Pocahontas has been meticulously re-mastered with amazingly improved picture and sound quality to bring to life the story of the young woman who unites the Native Americans of the ‘New World’ and the English settlers who have come to their land. Amongst the settlers is the courageous Captain John Smith, voiced by the Hollywood superstar Mel Gibson, who falls in love with the fiesty Pocahontas. The beautiful lands of Virginia provides a stunning setting for their story and the film’s Academy Award© winning musical score was composed by award-winning Disney legend Alan Menken and includes the rousing “Just Around the River Bend” and the Academy Award© Winning “Colours of the Wind”. With the additional voice talents of Christian Bale and Billy Connolly, Pocahontas is an uplifting adventure for all the family to enjoy.

Story synopsis
In the unspoiled landscape of 16th Century Virginia, the free-spirited Pocahontas, together with her friends Meeko the racoon and Flit the humming bird, enjoys a peaceful life under the watchful eye of her father, Chief Powtan. Pocahontas’ idyll is disturbed when she learns that her father hopes for her to marry their village’s greatest warrior Kocoum and goes to visit her counsel Grandmother Willow, a shrewd talking tree. When Pocahontas tells her all about her reoccurring dream of a spinning arrow, Grandmother Willow warns her that that a dramatic change is imminent. Shortly afterwards, Pocahontas’ tranquil existence is shattered by the arrival of a group of English settlers. One of the men, Captain John Smith, befriends Pocahontas and against all odds the pair build a strong friendship. When Kocoum is fatally wounded by one of the English men, John is captured and imprisoned by Pocahontas’ people. Pocahontas now faces a race against time to find a way to make peace between the natives and the settlers and save the man she loves.
